Local SEO
Local search report and autopilot
We read your website, find your Google listing, and report where you rank on Google Maps, in the 3-pack and in search, who ranks ahead of you and what to fix on the listing. Emailed each time, and on a weekly or monthly schedule if you want it.

This is the fastest way to set a local business up and the fullest single reading we sell. You confirm what your website already says, and one run tells you where you stand and what to do next.
Where
- Web: a domain's SEO & search tab, Local & profile. The overview shows the latest numbers with a link to the full report.
- iPhone: a domain's SEO & accessibility module, Local SEO, Local search report.
- API/MCP:
POST /api/local-seo/autopilot/preview,POST /api/local-seo/autopilot/run,GET /api/local-seo/scan/quote,POST /api/local-seo/scan,GET /api/local-seo/scans,GET /api/local-seo/scans/:id; toolspreview_local_autopilot,run_local_autopilot,quote_local_scan,run_local_scan,list_local_scans,get_local_scan,get_local_competitors,update_local_scan_settings.
Setting up from your website
Opening the setup reads your homepage and up to four linked pages (contact, about, services, the areas you serve). It picks up the business name, phone, street address, hours, services and the towns you serve, and shows where each came from. Nothing is charged for this and nothing is saved until you run the scan.
If what is saved and what the website says disagree, you see both and choose. When you add a domain on Pro we also fill in the business name and city from the website straight away, so Local SEO starts from the real business instead of the domain name.
For phrases, use the service without the town ("brake repair", not "brake repair hartville"). Every search is already run from your city.
What one scan measures
For each phrase:
- Google Maps: your position in the top 20, and who is #1.
- The 3-pack: whether you are in the map box at the top of the search page, and who is.
- Google search: whether your website is on page one, and which page of yours ranks.
Then once per scan:
- Your Google listing, found by your website address or phone number, never by a similar name. Each field is checked against your website: name, phone, address, website, hours, description, categories, services, service area, reviews, photos. Where Google is missing something your website already says, the report gives you the wording to paste.
- Competitors: everyone who shows up for your phrases on Maps, with their best position, how often they hold the 3-pack, rating and reviews. Pin the ones you care about and hide the ones that aren't really competitors; that sticks across scans.
- What to do next: a short list, most important first.
An optional map grid adds the same phrase measured from 25, 49 or 81 points around the business. See Map scans.
The price
Four credits a phrase (two for Maps, two for search) plus five for reading your Google listing. Five phrases is 25 credits. A map grid adds 50, 98 or 162. The button shows the total and your balance before anything is spent, and you are only charged for the parts that came back.
The email
When a scan finishes, the whole report goes to your sign-in address: the numbers, the next steps, every phrase with its change since last time, the map grid, the 3-pack holders, the competitors, the listing checklist and what your website says. You can add up to five more addresses, like an office manager. Turn it off in the same place.
This is a report you asked for, not an alert. Alerts still come as push notifications and in the Alerts feed.
Scheduled scans
When you first set up a local business (its name and city) on a plan with Local SEO, the report is scheduled weekly for you, starting a week later so you have time to change it and nothing is spent the day you set up. Pick weekly, monthly or off at any time, here or on the domain's Daily scan card; once you have chosen, it stays as you set it. Each run emails the report and costs the same as running it yourself. If the balance can't cover it, that week is skipped and nothing is charged.
Common questions
It says no Google listing could be confirmed. Either the business has no listing, or the listing does not show your website or phone. If the report offers candidates, pick yours and every later scan reads it.
Maps says #10 but I'm not in the 3-pack. They are different lists. The 3-pack is the three businesses Google puts at the top of the search page; Maps is the longer list in the Maps app. Getting from the top 10 into the top three is mostly reviews, photos and a complete listing.
Can you update my Google listing for me? Not yet. Google only allows changes through the owner's Google account. The report gives you the exact wording to paste.
