What we look at
We read the registrar from the registry's public RDAP record. When the registry does not answer, we say so rather than guess.
Why it matters to your business
Your registrar account is the master key to your business online: whoever logs into it can move your domain, change its nameservers, and take your website and email. Many businesses do not know which registrar they use or whose login it is.
How to fix it
- Find the registrar login and store it in your password manager under a shared business account.
- Turn on two-factor authentication and registrar lock (clientTransferProhibited).
