The Starter introductory offer (Apple)
Starter's monthly subscription carries a 7-day free introductory offer through StoreKit. The offer screen shows the real App Store price, the exact date the trial ends, and what happens then, before you tap anything. After starting it, a short timeline shows today, a day-5 reminder (scheduled by the app itself) and the renewal day.
Two days or fewer before it ends, a card on Account shows what the trial caught (real change events) with Keep Starter / Switch to Free and the price and date.
Apple governs eligibility: one introductory offer per Apple ID per subscription group. Cancel in your Apple subscription settings before the end date and nothing is charged.
The Pro trial (server-side)
A separate trial grants real Pro for 7 days with no card:
| Rule | Value |
|---|---|
| Who | Free accounts only; a paid account is never eligible |
| Length | 7 days |
| Repeat | Once every 365 days after the previous trial ended |
| What you get | Pro exactly: 100 watched domains, DMARC reports, the full crawl, Local SEO with credits, API read access |
| End | The account returns to Free automatically; nothing is charged because nothing was bought |
- iOS: the "Try Pro free" call to action where Pro-only features are shown.
- Web: the plan card.
- API:
GET /api/trial/status(eligible, active, expires at, seconds remaining, reason),POST /api/trial/start.
Which one should I use?
If you want to see the paid product, the Pro trial shows all of it without touching Apple. If you have decided on Starter, the introductory offer starts the subscription with a free week.
Common questions
I had a Pro trial last spring. Can I have another? After 365 days from the day it ended.
Does the Pro trial end my Starter subscription? No. Paid accounts are not eligible for it, so the two never overlap.
Trial ended and my DMARC reports vanished from view. The reports are kept; the report endpoints need Starter or higher to read them. Subscribe and they are back.
