Changing plans

What happens to your domains, alerts, API keys, DMARC reports and report branding when you upgrade, downgrade, cancel, or a subscription lapses.

Updated · 2 min read

Plan changes are applied on the server the moment Apple confirms them, and every plan gate is re-read on each request, so the change is immediate in both directions.

Upgrading

  • More domains join the automated watch: the allowance grows and the scheduled scan picks them up on its next pass.
  • Modules that were blocked in the setup guide (DMARC reports, Watched every night) flip to "to do" with their instructions.
  • Email alerts start on the next event, once a notification email is set.
  • Pro and Enterprise credits are granted for the month; the API key screen unlocks.

Downgrading or cancelling

The plan stays active until the paid period ends, then:

What What happens
Domains over the new allowance Kept. They scan on demand and accept edits; the oldest keep the automation, the rest read "on demand"
Scheduled scans, lookalike watches, exposure schedules Stop for domains outside the allowance and for capabilities the new plan lacks. A lookalike watch can always be turned off, so nothing is stuck on
DMARC reports Kept, not readable below Starter. They resume in view when you subscribe again
Crawl results and SEO history Kept, not readable below Starter
API keys Keys are re-checked on every request; below Pro they answer 401. Enterprise to Pro drops the write scope on the next call
Report branding Kept in storage but ignored; reports render unbranded until Enterprise returns
Credits Pack credits stay. The monthly allowance stops
Ads Return on Free

Deleting is never gated: a domain over the allowance can be removed like any other.

Switching between paid plans

Within Apple's subscription group, Starter to Pro is an upgrade (immediate, prorated) and Pro to Starter a downgrade (at renewal). The account's plan follows the entitlement Apple reports.

Plans not from Apple

An admin grant or a trial is separate from an Apple subscription and is not removed when one ends. If you had an admin grant of SEO access, it survives a downgrade.

Common questions

I downgraded and my Overview still shows the old numbers. The plan card reads GET /api/auth/me; pull to refresh. Scheduled work stops at the next scheduler pass.

Can I keep hourly scans on Pro? No. Hourly is Enterprise; the setting is ignored on other plans and daily applies.

Still stuck?

Ask the people who run the scanner.

Send the domain and what you expected to see. We look at the same scan you are looking at and write back with what it means and what to change.
