Attack surface
CDN and web firewall check
Whether your website sits behind a CDN or web firewall such as Cloudflare, Fastly, CloudFront or Akamai.
Check this on your own domain now. It is free with a DomainGuard account and works on any domain. The check reads only what your domain publishes, and gives you a report you can send to whoever runs your website.
What we look at
We check whether your domain and its www name resolve to a CDN's published addresses, point to a CDN by CNAME, or answer with a CDN's own response headers. Cloudflare we recognise only by its addresses, because our scanner runs on Cloudflare and its headers are on every response we see.
Why it matters to your business
A CDN or web firewall takes the hits before your server does: attack traffic, floods of requests, and bots probing for weak spots. It's not required, but if you're paying for one you want to know it's actually in front of the site.
How to fix it
- Nothing to fix here. If you expected a CDN and we found none, check that the domain's DNS records point to it (in Cloudflare, that the record is proxied, the orange cloud).
If you would rather not touch DNS or server settings yourself, forward this page and your report to whoever manages your website, or ask us to do it.
