Free IT assessment · Northeast Ohio

Ninety minutes, and you'll know where your IT actually stands.

A free assessment for Northeast Ohio businesses running 5 to 50 computers. We walk the environment with you, test the things everyone assumes are fine, and send a written findings document three business days later. You keep it whether you hire us or not.

  • 90 minutes, remote or at your office. One session, not a discovery sequence.
  • A written findings document within three business days, ranked worst first.
  • Free up to 50 users. No card, no contract, nothing owed afterward.
  • Anything urgent, you hear on the call — not three days later in a PDF.

Would rather talk than type? Call and you get Noah, not a queue.

The scope, in writing

What you get, and what you don't.

This ends with a document, not a proposal. Here is the actual boundary of it.

Included

  • A count of every computer, server, and network device, with its age and OS version
  • A restore test: we pick a file and a mailbox and prove your backup brings them back
  • Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace review — MFA coverage, admin accounts, ex-employees still enabled, mail forwarding rules nobody set up on purpose
  • Your outside-in posture: SSL, DNS, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, security headers, exposed files and services
  • Patch levels and end-of-life software, including anything still on a Windows build Microsoft stopped shipping fixes for
  • The written findings document: what we found, ranked by what would hurt most, with the fix and a rough cost beside each line

Not included

  • Penetration testing or phishing simulations. Different engagement, and a paid one.
  • Fixing what we find. The assessment ends at the document. Remediation gets quoted separately, and you can hand that document to anyone you like.
  • A formal HIPAA, PCI, or SOC 2 audit. We map your gaps against the framework; signing off on compliance takes a licensed auditor.
  • Your admin passwords. Read-only access, or a screen share with your own admin driving, covers everything on the list.
  • How your line-of-business software is used. We check whether it is supported and patched, not whether you have it configured well.

Start without waiting for me

The outside-in half, you can run yourself in a minute.

Part of what we check in the session is what any stranger can already see from the internet: your certificate, your DNS, whether someone can send mail as you, and whether files are reachable that should not be. That part is our free checkup, and you do not need me for it. The machines, the backups, and the accounts are the part that needs the 90 minutes.

What the scan reads

  • HTTPS and HSTS
  • SPF, DKIM, DMARC
  • MX and nameservers
  • Security headers
  • Exposed .env and .git
  • Domain expiry
  • Blacklists
  • Subdomains

The scan is free and there is no card. Your name and email make the free account that keeps the report, right here, and it only reads what the internet can already see — nothing inside your building.

Free, no card, no password to choose: your name and email make a free DomainGuard account that keeps the report, and we email you a link to confirm it. We only read what the internet can already see.

Or open the full checkup page first.

After you hit send

What happens next, step by step.

  1. Step 1

    You send the form

Number of people, number of computers, and a couple of windows that work. I reply within one business day with a time.

  2. Step 2

    The 90 minutes

Remote or on site, your choice. Nothing gets installed. Your admin can drive the whole session if you would rather we never touched a keyboard.

  3. Step 3

    Three business days

The written document lands by email. Anything urgent was already said out loud during the session.

  4. Step 4

    Your move

Fix it yourself, hand it to your current provider, or ask me for a quote. All three are normal outcomes and none of them costs you anything.

Before you send it

The questions people actually ask.

What does it cost after?

Nothing, unless you ask for something. If you do want us running your IT, managed service is $50-$100 per user/month depending on coverage, month to month, no minimum term and no setup fees — the full breakdown sits on our pricing page. The assessment stays free either way.

We already have an IT provider. Is this awkward?

It is one of the most common reasons people book it, and it is not an ambush. Plenty of businesses run this as a second opinion and hand the findings straight to their current provider to fix. You do not have to tell me who they are, and I do not contact them.

Are we too small for this?

With five computers the session runs closer to an hour and you still get the document. Under five, skip the form and call — booking a formal session is more process than your situation needs.

Do you need domain admin?

No. A screen share with your own admin in the driver's seat covers the whole checklist. If you would rather hand over an account, make it read-only and disable it when we are done. I will tell you the moment something needs more access than that, and you can say no.

What if you find something genuinely bad?

You hear it during the session. If something is live right now (an exposed service, an admin account with no MFA, a mailbox sitting in a breach dump) I tell you how to shut it off that day, and you owe me nothing for it.

Is this a sales call wearing a hat?

It ends with a document, not a proposal. If you want a quote you have to ask. There is no drip sequence behind this form — you will hear from me once after the document lands, and then only if you write back.

Book the 90 minutes.

Free, scoped, and it ends with something in writing you can act on. The worst case is that you learn your IT is in better shape than you thought.
